Deal or no deal...

About a week and a half ago I spent the weekend in a seaside town called Deal. I had promised a friend of mine that I would visit her home town. I had promised her this about two years now, but had never actually gotten down there. So, we took the train on an epic journey to England's seaside town of Deal. Our trek to Deal was like an odyssey through every type of transportation. We left London Bridge Train Station and took a train to another train to a bus to another train... it was quite an epic journey.

The town of Deal is on the South Western coast of England along the English Channel. Apparently on a good day you can see France from the beach, but the weekend that I went the weather was not quite clear enough.

The town is very much the seaside village with its beachside restaurants and cafes, pier, pebbly beach, and long queues for ice cream. There is a main high street with nice shops and a famous road (that my friend lives on) called "Middle Street." I had some of the best fish and chips that I've ever had in Deal. Delicious!

There was also Deal Castle.

I wish I had gotten to see a sign for the the two near by towns of "Ham" and "Sandwich" which I thought was pretty funny. My friend wouldn't go with me to see it though. She thought I was being silly.

Location: Deal, England
